This Morning 7/4/12 In My Room on the Fourth

On this day of celebration across the U.S. signifying the declaration that its immigrants, the land they occupied, and its future generations would have a country with which to identify themselves not governed by the Crown of England, the luster is lost on me.   This is partly because I am Cherokee and partly because of the state of the State.

This country was founded through ethnicide and genocide of cultures of Indigenous people who were doing just fine without the influence of the WASP elitists and Catholic conquistadors.   Wrought with the survival and inter-tribal issues of any hunter/gatherer society, the only reason any contact was necessary for the "discovering" explorers was to understand and respect that this land was OCCUPIED!  The Indigenous didn't need to be civilized, they needed to be honored.

Of course, the Indigenous reached out to welcome the colonizers, not realizing how this small act of kindness - trust - would spark the most egregious, historically obscured national and international ethical denial franchise in the history of humankind.  Until the widespread publication of literature from Indigenous and Indigenous-friendly authors, evidence of the decimation of their cultures by "Americans" had been completely and literally white-washed!

And look at where it has led.

In less than the 300 years since the official declaration and unification of the thirteen chartered U.S. states, this "nation" has gone through various stages of development to eventually establish itself as the leading world superpower.  It has also begun to see the decline of social and economic systems resulting from this meteoric rise which employed the same standards it was founded on - the disenfranchisement, suppression and subversion of cultures of "problem" populations fueled by elitist theoretical principles.

Elitist Theory, abridged, (by Wikipedia) is as follows:

    1.  Power lies in positions of authority in key economic and political institutions.
    2.  The psychological difference that sets Elites apart is that they have personal resources, for instance - intelligence and skills - and a vested interest in the government; while the rest are incompetent and do not have the capabilities of governing themselves  The elite are resourceful and will strive to make the government work, for in reality, the elite have the most to lose in a failed government.

Whereas Democracy is a system which levels the political landscape, the power of the organized, covert Corporatocracy inherent in the elitist theoretical divisive model has begun to crumble and disintegrate the scaffolding of the socioeconomic infrastructure upon which this nation depends.  However, within the framework of globalization, any one country can outsource while its "powers that be" - the Oligarchy - find another bank, business or homeland to occupy.

This is the present state of the State, sanctified by the Supreme Court of the U.S.
